How are translations charged?

Translations are charged by the word. However, there are exceptions and additional factors such as expertise and technical requirements. In cases where special formatting, editing, desktop publishing, transcriptions or extra research is required, an hourly rate may also be considered.

How are words counted?

  There’s a tool for word counting in almost all editable files. For instance, in Word 2007, word counting is shown in the lower left corner automatically.

How many words can a translator translate per day?

A professional translator, with an average of three years of experience or more, can translate approximately 1,500-2,500 words per day, provided that the text is of a general nature with no unusual features, such as newly coined or obscure terminology or complex formatting.
